DUI Services

Alcohol/Drug Screenings

Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 28-1445 requires an alcohol screening for drivers who are cited for driving under the influence (DUI). This law requires the alcohol screening be completed for the purposes of obtaining a restricted license, even BEFORE the case goes to trial. The purpose of the screening assessment is to determine which level (1 or 2) of education and treatment services is required. Level 1 requires 36 hours of education and treatment, and Level 2 requires 16 hours.

What you will need for the screening:

After the screening, a completion record is electronically transmitted to the MVD noting the DUI complaint number. Our goal is to assist you in completing your MVD Screening, Education, Treatment, and Traffic Survival School classes at this same facility. Our facility conducts alcohol screenings seven days a week.

Traffic Survival School (TSS)

Traffic Survival School is often confused with Defensive Driving Class. Drivers required to complete a Defensive Driving Class prior to a court hearing, and in doing so effectively create an agreement that one traffic citation will not be forwarded to the Motor Vehicle Division (MVD).

The MVD will mail a mandatory order (to the last known address) to attend Traffic Survival School (TSS) if you are found guilty, deemed responsible, and/or paid a fine in any of the following situations:

Note:  The MVD Corrective Action Letter is mailed to the last known address of record. If you have relocated, and do not receive the Corrective Action Letter, you are still responsible to complete TSS. Failing to complete TSS may result in license suspension. If you are an out of state driver and you are cited for any of the above listed violations, MVD will assign an Arizona driver's license number along with the Corrective Action Letter.
